Carters Garden Machinery is the new home for our old online shop - BestBuyMowers.

At Carters of Swanwick we specialise in powered garden machinery and groundscare equipment for the domestic, professional and local authority markets – from lawnmowers to ride-on tractors. Carters of Swanwick are trusted and respected throughout the garden power and machinery industry.

We have been selling ‘on-line’ for many years and take pride in having brought the ‘showroom experience’ to our many online customers. We are main agents for Mountfield, Stiga, Stihl, Husqvarna, EGO, Hayter, Toro, Cub Cadet and many more. 

Our garden machinery showroom at Swanwick is one of the largest in the United Kingdom and has hundreds of products available to handle and view – all backed up with expert advice and quality service.

Carters of Swanwick was originally formed by two Carter brothers in 1921. They provided servicing and repairs to Swanwick and the surrounding areas.

Swanwick was then considered a district covering a large part of the famous strawberry growing area from Botley through to Titchfield and down to Swanwick Wood where the old “Bursledon” Brickworks were located near the Hamble River. The business then was servicing and repairing horticultural and agricultural machines such as tractors.
