Introducing the NEW, next generation Weed Ripper to join the already well-established range from Westermann. This new battery-powered model has been designed and built with the same trusted German engineering as its petrol-powered counterparts but instead of being powered by the well-known Honda engine, this NEW model is powered by the professional-grade EGO 56V battery system. The heavy-duty WKB660 Weed is a great choice for professionals such as contractors and landscapers who are faced with thick, overgrown weeds to clear. With its 12 heavy-duty braided wire brushes, it will make lightwork of tough weeds on pathways and tarmac as well as turf which has grown onto hard surfaces, generally in just one pass. It is designed to work efficiently on most hard surfaces and although is safe to use without causing damage to brick, tarmac and concrete, it is always recommended to carry out a test patch first.
Weed rippers are used predominantly for fast and effective weed removal in just one pass and are more robust than the Moss Brushes which are better suited to clear moss and looser debris. They are fitted with a guard featuring a side flap to cover the high-spinning brushes, but this can be lifted to allow the brushes to get close to the bottom of walls and kerb edges and also to quickly re-define overgrown pathways when used as a lawn re-edger. The three individually rotating holders allow you to repeatedly attack weeds from all angles clearing the area quickly, efficiently and usually without the need to carry out more than one pass.
Weed Rippers offer an alternative to chemical treatments which can be expensive as well as damaging to the environment and also to high-pressure water which can become messy and involves the need for both a power and water supply near to the area of work. This NEW EGO-powered model is an even more environmentally friendly option with zero-emissions, low-noise levels and less vibrations, it is a great choice for noise-sensitive areas such as schools, hospitals and busy estates as well eco-conscious environments where petrol fumes would be an un-welcome addition to the day.
Available as the machine only (great for already established customers of the EGO range of tools) or as a choice of bundles with different battery sizes to give a different range of run-times (**PLEASE CHOOSE THE CORRECT OPTION PRIOR TO CHECKING OUT VIA THE 'OPTIONS' DROP DOWN BOX) As a guide, each Ah will deliver approximately 10 minutes of run-time allowing you to choose the battery option best suited to your workload.
- 7.5Ah bundle = Two 7.Ah batteries and one rapid charger (up to 75 minutes run-time per full charge)
- 10Ah bundle = Two 10Ah batteries and one rapid charger (up to 100 minutes run-time per full charge)
- 12Ah bundle = Two 12Ah batteries and one rapid charger (up to 120 minutes run-time per full charge)
This machine is supplied with 36 heavy-duty braided wire brushes giving you three full sets, each of which will clear up to 700m², and a safety guard - everything you need to get up and running and clearing those stubborn weeds. As the brushes wear, you are advised to adjust the height of the machine via the rear chassis to ensure best results and also to make sure the brushes wear evenly; please see the handy how-to video on the tabs section for correct setting up and use of the machine.
We are happy to report that as of February 2026, this model now comes with a 3 year commercial and domestic warranty on the body which is an improvement on the 1 year and 2 years previously; this gives you added peace of mind with your new purchase.

The founder of Westermann, Alfons Westermann, began life as a locksmith. At the age of 23 he went to Osnabrück for further education to become a mechanical engineering technician. He was only 25 years old when he took the step into self-employment – only 2 months later, in November 1989, he presented his motorized radial sweeper at an exhibition in Frankfurt. Here he found his first contacts to customers from the agricultural sector.
First the company was housed in Mr. Westermann's parent’s barn, then it moved into an old dairy of the village Lengerich. In 1995 a factory of 400 m² was built. Seven years later this was enlarged to 600 m². After continuing to grow the company one final move to Meppen, which is where it is located today. After purchasing an adjoining complex in 2014 now the company currently has 7000 m² of manufacturing space and an office complex on a total land area of two hectares. So there is space for further expansion!
