The Henchman Hi-Step is an adjustable platform ladder designed to keep you safe and secure when working at height. This sturdy platform ladder allows you to work safely in ditches, on banks, steps and sloping ground without the need to lean against possibly fragile or unstable surfaces.
Each Hi-Step model can be adjusted to suit a variety of tasks, you can raise and lower the height of the non-slip platform by simply adjusting the legs up to 2’. For further adjustments and an additional 3’ in height, you are able to purchase an extender allowing you to complete a multitude of tasks from the one ladder
With no fear of toppling over, you will be able to concentrate on the task at hand and use both hands to get the job done faster; depending on the equipment used and using the ability to lean with confidence, you will be able to cut a stretch of hedge from 8’ up to 16’ in one go. The 2' by 2' marine plywood platform is fully enclosed providing you with a spacious area that ensures you are safe and comfortable when working at height, the hip level guard rail allows you to lean against it and the rear guard strap keeps you secure within the working area.
This design was pioneered by the Kitching family team of father and son in 1994 and to this day, the Henchman Hi-Step remains THE safest platform for working at height in the garden. The specially designed feet swivel and tilt 360° to follow the contour of the ground and can be adjusted minutely ensuring full contact with the ground, adding additional stability and security. In addition to this, all four legs are also independently adjustable allowing you to tailor the positioning to suit the ground, this means you will always have a flat, non-slip foundation to work in safety and confidence.

Delivery by carrier
For most purchases of £120 inc VAT and over, we offer FREE delivery via carrier to UK mainland except for the Highlands and islands (priced separately by postcode). However, we only deliver ride-on mowers locally and use our own vehicles to do this, see below.
PLEASE NOTE - We are unable to offer delivery to Northern Ireland for many of our machines and accessories; we may have to cancel and refund your order if we are unable to complete this for you.
For purchases of less than £120 inc VAT, there is a small charge of £6 inc VAT
Aspen fuel deliveries will incur an £18 inc VAT delivery surcharge.
Westermann brush deliveries will incur a £36 inc VAT delivery surcharge.
We will contact you if any other charge might apply based on location or product.
Our delivery service is operated by contracted carriers.
Larger boxed items would normally be delivered to you the next working day after shipping. This is a very reliable service and whilst most customers receive their goods the next working day it is not absolutely guaranteed as carriers can have logistical problems.
Smaller items that are shipped in packets for instance, will be posted and should arrive in 2-3 days. If you need these items sooner, please call us and we will endeavour to help where possible.
Please note that delivery can be anytime between 8am and 6pm Monday-Friday. If you need your delivery to be made in a specific time slot, please call us to discuss the options available.
Next working day delivery is subject to the goods being in stock at our warehouse. Please call us to check availability if it is an urgent order.

Delivery of some products (mainly garden tractors and attachments) is limited to the local area as indicated by the list of postcodes below. Delivery is direct from our store in Swanwick using our own vehicles. One of our sales staff will personally contact you and arrange a convenient time to deliver your purchase.
