Husqvarna Automower® 560 EPOS

Husqvarna's range of commercial robotic mowers are the perfect solution for the efficient and sustainable management of green spaces and sports turf; they will spend their days tirelessly mowing to leave a carpet-like finish freeing staff members time to focus on other, more skilled tasks. The all-new 560 EPOS is a wonderful addition to the line-up and is ideal for taking care of sports training pitches and all kinds of municipal and corporate estates up to 12'000m² in size. It is ideal for those areas that demand precision, flexibility and a clean, customisable installation with no physical boundary wires. It is a great solution for sports fields, municipal properties, corporate campuses and complex residential landscapes.

It is built on a new mid-size platform and guarantees high productivity, first-class, professional-grade cutting results and easy maintenance, all with the added benefit of a simple, wire-free installation process. The satellite-based Husqvarna EPOS® technology allows you to easily set and change work areas and stay-out zones as your requirements change all the while reducing downtime and giving high levels of customisation. 

The 500 series of commercial mowers all feature a commercial human, machine interface (HMI) which has been specially adapted for use in public settings. The professional HMI features a START/STOP switch and LED status indicator which protects against unauthorised tampering of the mower and its settings.  If the mower does get stole, it will be immediately locked, an alarm will sound and the built-in GPS tracking will show the mowers exact position.

All the machine settings and controls are managed remotely via the Husqvarna Fleet Services smartphone app or via a PC/tablet; this is a digital tool allowing you easy access to all mower features and controls. This handy digital tool allows you to monitor and control multiple machines over different locations and by a number of different users, it will even notify you of and problems that may occur allowing you to stay in control even if you are away from the machine.

The 560 EPOS Automower® is a high-capacity robotic mower for commercial fleet use and mowing of areas up to 12'000m². It features Husqvarna's EPOS technology with virtual boundaries instead of physical wire; through satellite technology with an accuracy down to 2-3cm, you can define several work areas with different settings and even create temporary stay-out zones.

The clever EPOS guidance system will automatically calculate the most efficient route to and from the charging stations docking point, it will also vary the route on the lawn to avoid track marks. The mowing pattern can also be changed giving the possibility of a variety of different mowing shapes, such as diamonds, triangles, checkerboard or good old fashioned stripes; the large coarse-tread wheels provide excellent traction even if the surface is slippery and means that it can easily handle slopes up to 50% even when it is raining.

As well as control via Fleet Services, the 540 EPOS can be controlled by a smart phone thanks to the appDrive; this is especially useful to define an EPOS map or also to drive the mower to a different area eliminating the need to physically carry it. This model also has warning lights built in to the front of the body, they create awareness during operation at night with either a solid, or pulsating light reducing the risk of accidents whilst working in public environments.

It is equipped with a commercial interface for simplified interaction, GPS assisted navigation & weather timer to ensure uniform coverage of complex lawns and the capability to adapt the mowing frequency to the rate of lawn growth. This model will easily handle steep slopes up to 50% (26°) its powerful wheels are designed to give better traction and improved performance even over rougher terrain, the interchangeable wheel brushes will also help keep the driving wheels clean of clippings helping to maintain traction.

This model has the added benefit of remote object detection via the built-in ultrasonic sensors, this helps the mower to detect and avoid objects by lowering the speed and avoiding hard collisions; the 560 is equipped with a rubber-made front bumper making it more resilient and resistant to collisions that may occur with shrubs and trees within the installation.

The cutting system has been updated to include five (instead of three) carbon steel blades mounted on a robust cutting disc system with built-in balance control which automatically detects and notifies if an imbalance in the cutting system occurs. The height adjust system is controlled electronically making it easy and convenient to set the desired cutting height via the Connect app or from the mowers main menu. Thanks to the free movement pattern of Husqvarna Automower® (the analogy is of a sheep grazing, head down, apparently moving randomly around the lawn) the lawn is perfectly cut, achieving a beautiful and carpet-like look. The razor-sharp blades cut the grass gently from all directions, helping it to grow strong. Moss growth is effectively prevented - an added bonus!

Husqvarna Automowers use Husqvarna's patented triple guide wire system; this extra wire helps the mower to find its way back to the charging station quickly and efficiently, which will reduce searching times especially for complex or large installations.  A uniform cutting result throughout the lawn is possible because this mower can start mowing at five different remote locations along the patented guide wire, the larger the grass area, the more important this becomes. 

Robotic lawn mowing is all about reliability. During 25 years of development Husqvarna has refined its mower concept to achieve the highest level of reliability, quality and cutting result, with a minimum of owner intervention.

Other features include: 

• ULTRA-SILENT: The 2-step gearboxes within the wheel motors enable a silent drive for night time operation or 24/7 mowing. 
• LOW POWER: They have very low power consumption and as such are much more economical to run than a conventional mower.
• LOW CARBON EMISSIONS: Robotic mowers emit zero carbon dioxide during use as they are entirely electrical.
• AUTOMATIC CHARGING: When Automower needs more power, it will automatically find its way back to the charging station.
• PARK BUTTON ON CHARGING STATION: The mower can be called back to the docking station by simply pressing the PARK button.
• WEATHERPROOF: They are weatherproof and can still mow the lawn effectively even when it is raining. They are designed to withstand the harsh, Nordic climate however, it is recommended that they be taken indoors over winter for servicing and winter storage.
• SAFETY: If Automower® is lifted off the ground or tips over, the cutting automatically shuts off. In addition, the blades are rotating far from the outer edge of the machine. If Automower® meets an obstacle it will stop and redirect itself without causing any damage.
  
• SECURITY: Theft protection by alarm/PIN code.  Different levels of protection can be set. If the mower is lifted or carried away a high-sounding alarm starts and can only be deactivated with the mower's unique PIN code.
