The STIHL HLA 140 is a powerful cordless, long-reach hedge trimmer which has been designed with professional gardeners and landscapers in mind. It is ideal for pruning, trimming and general maintenance work on hedges, shrubs, bushes and can be used in road maintenance and in local authority work. It is lightweight and as it is battery-powered, it has lower vibrations and is much quieter than it's petrol counterparts making it ideal for extended periods of work as well as use within noise-sensitive environments such as hospitals and nursing homes or for those early starts and late finishes.
It is powered by Stihls 36V range of AP batteries and has been designed to be perfectly balanced once a battery is inserted. There are three levels of power to choose from with rpm adjustable from 3'200, 3'600 & 4000 giving you a good working range capable of tackling a range of greenery and a range of different sized hedges. The speed is adjusted via the multi-function handle which is ergonomic and easy to sue allowing you to quickly and conveniently adjust the speed as needed.
This long-reach hedge trimmer has a length of 245cm which makes it ideal for cutting tall and wide hedges; the 60cm/24" laser-cut, double-sided, double-edged and diamond ground blades have been friction-optimised for a high-quality cutting performance and to help extend the battery run-time. The cutter head can be adjusted by up to 145° letting you tackle all angles and faces of a hedge and thanks to the high acceleration of the powerful EC motor, the blades provide a clean cutting pattern time after time. In the event the blades get jammed on a thicker branch, the anti-lock feature will reverse the blade movement when the trigger is released helping you to remove the cutters with ease.
The head can be folded flat reducing the length of the tool to 188cm making it easier for transportation and storage and there is an eyelet for a shoulder strap should you wish to use one whilst working. The air filter is easy to clean and is covered by a mesh cover that is simple and easy to remove which a ensures long service life and optimum engine cooling; as part of the professional range, it also has a mounting point for the STIHL Smart Connector 2A so that you can manage and monitor this tool and any others that you may have in your fleet.
The HLA 140 is part of STIHL's AP range of tools meaning that it can be used with any battery within the range, as well as the new ALPRO battery range; these batteries can also be used in any tools within the range.
