The MS 212 is a new chainsaw from STIHL to replace the previous 211 models; as with the previous model, it is available in a 14" & 16" bar length and this C-BE versions has added Comfort features - Ergostart, quick chain tensioning and a primer bulb all designed to make starting much easier. It is the most powerful petrol chainsaw for homeowners, gardeners and landscapers and designed to tackle the toughest maintenance jobs from cutting firewood, pruning branches and even felling small trees.
It is powered by STIHL's 2-MIX engine technology which ensures you always have great cutting performance with low fuel consumption (savings of up to 20% compared to standard 2-stroke engines in the same performance class) and greatly reduced exhaust emissions (by up to as much as 50%). The anti-vibration system reduces vibrations felt at the handles which will relieve strain to muscles and joints and will give the user a much more enjoyable experience with less fatigue.
This saw really is easy to use with its tool free filler caps on the oil and fuel tanks and the side mounted chain tensioner, it is designed for domestic users that do not have a range of special tools or experience with the more heavy-duty range of power tools.
As with all saws in the comfort range, it benefits from Ergo-Start and a primer bulb for easier starting, and quick chain tensioning to minimise downtime during cuts. This new design has been modernised to give a newer look, and the new MS 182 C-BE has a control lever which automatically returns to to idle which gives convenient starting and reduces the likelihood of flooding the machine upon restarting.
Ergo-Start
A Comfort Feature. STIHL ErgoStart (E) reduces the effort required to start the engine by half, while the starter cord can be pulled at just one third of the normal force. All you are doing is tensioning a spring which then automatically releases to start the engine; it takes just 2 fingers and a gentle pull action to operate the pull handle.

The Quick Chain Tensioning (B) is a tool free quick and easy way of adjusting and tensioning the saw chain plus it enables you to replace saw chains in seconds without tools.
