The STIHL MS 261 C-M is an all-purpose professional chainsaw perfect for small-to-medium tree maintenance work. This new, updated version is fitted with a newly designed light 04 guide bar as well as the new .325" RS Pro saw chain for improved cutting performance. The high performance chain provides up to 20% more cutting performance compared to the previous version, and when combined with STIHL's 2-MIX engine technology which also gives more power with up to 20% lower fuel consumption than regular 2-stroke engine, it makes fast work of any task whilst delivering up to 20% more fuel efficiency.
The M-Tronic fully electronic management system is fitted as standard which makes this saw easy to start in all conditions. The ignition timing and fuel metering are monitored and adjusted in all operating modes and with external conditions taken into consideration, engine performance is optimised with no need for manual carburettor adjustments. The ElastoStart makes pulling the starter handle easier by taking away the compression shock via a spring or rubber element and when the decompression valve is pressed prior to starting, it helps to reduce the amount of effort needed to pull over.
Other handy features are the combi lever with only one start position and a handy stop function which returns the lever to the operating position when turned off so a warm saw can be re-started immediately, a long-life air filtration system which gives the filter a much longer life reducing maintenance costs and a chain lubrication system that can reduce oil consumption by up to 50% with its accuracy - all of which combine to make using and maintaining the saw, simpler and more cost effective.
