MS 400.1 C-M PETROL CHAINSAW: HIGH-PERFORMANCE FORESTY SAW IN THE 60cc CLASS.
The NEW STIHL MS 400.1 C-M sets new standards in the 60cc class. It replaces the MS 362 & the previous MS 400 and will sit between the MS 261 & the MS 462; this isn't simply a new model, it is a redevelopment from the ground up resulting in a completely new machine. The weight has been shaved by 300 grams from the previous model giving the 400.1 a total weight of 5.5kg, the engine displacement has been reduced slightly to 62.6cc but the power output of 3.9kW is still very impressive and results in the best power-to-weight ratio of any currently available petrol chainsaw.
Torque has been increased from 4.1Nm to 4.3Nm meaning it is less pressure sensitive and less likely to bog down mid-cut when cutting large timber. Like all STIHL professional petrol saws, the MS 400.1 uses the latest M-Tronic technology giving the operative easier starting and super-fast acceleration. A larger magnesium flywheel and improvements to the muffler help to keep the saw cool during operation and the improved rear handle makes handling the saw even more comfortable, both great for those longer periods of working.
It comes as standard with the Light 04 guide bar and 1.6mm full chisel chain and is also available in the option of an 18" and 20" guide bar length.
Other handy features:
- Anti-vibration system to reduce the transmission of vibrations from the engine to the handle area, making it much easier to use with less fatigue.
- Combi-lever with stop function simplifying operation; once the machine is turned off, the control lever returns to the operating position allowing a warm machine to be restarted immediately.
- Highly efficient 2-Mix engine which reduces exhaust emissions and fuel consumption. It is cost effective and low maintenance and complies with EU Stage V emissions.
- HD2 long-life air filter with even larger surface area fir working in tough environments and less maintenance required during the working day.
- STIHL M-Tronic fully electronic engine management system to regulate ignition timing and fuel metering giving you the best performance automatically.
