RGA 140: PROFESSIONAL CORDLESS BRUSHCUTTER WITH RECIPROCATING CUTTING BLADES FOR LOW-SPIN REMOVAL OF WEEDS.
This powerful, battery-powered brush cutter is part of STIHL's AP range of battery tools; designed for the professional user, the reciprocating action of the twin blades allows for low-speed yet very efficient removal of weeds and grass from a range of surfaces such as gravel, concrete and paved areas. This action helps avoid throwing of projectiles - such as stones - whilst working making it a great choice when working around pedestrians or parked cars and glass fronted buildings. The blades work similar to that of a hedge cutter giving you an efficient cut and the low rotational energy delivers a low-speed cut allowing safe working distances to be cut to just 3 meters for objects such as buildings and cars, and 5 metres for pedestrians.
The tool features a battery slot allowing you to insert one of the STIHL AP batteries directly the tool, or alternatively you can use one of the AR batteries to give extended run-times. (In order to use these, you will also need an AP adapter and a cable) It also comes equipped with a mounting point for a Smart Connector 2 A to be attached giving you up the capability to check runtimes ad servicing schedules as well as other handy diagnostics features.
The bike-handle design makes this tool great for larger working areas, a side-to-side mowing action allows for the easy removal of weeds and grass and when used in conjunction with the supplied double shoulder harness, fatigue is greatly reduced allowing you to work for longer. The controls are on the ergonomically designed handle giving you greater control of the tool and making it more comfortable to use; with three stages of speed to choose from you are able to select the right speed for the job at hand. The built-in LED display allows you to quickly see which level you are currently working on allowing you to monitor the power consumption and work as efficiently as possible.
The easy-to-clean air filter has a long service life and optimum engine cooling ensuring the powerful EC motor runs optimally for longer; the motor is extremely energy efficient, lightweight and compact. It runs quietly and generates very low vibrations when compared to petrol machines, giving the user a much more comfortable experience and allowing you to work in noise-sensitive areas or into the evening without disturbing those around you.
To get the most out of this tool, STIHL recommend it is used with their most powerful AP battery, AP 300 S, this would give a working time of up to 100 minutes; if longer working times are required, this can also be used with a battery adapter and one of the AR backpack batteries. This tool is fitted with the rotary RG cutting head which you are able to sharpen the blades on and even rotate them to make sure they wear evenly and to increase service life.
