About Masport

Masport Limited commenced as a family owned manufacturing company in 1910 in Auckland, New Zealand. After establishing a solid base in the farming industry, Masport started to diversify producing its first hand mowers in 1930 and New Zealand’s first petrol-powered lawnmower in 1938.

Masport garden machinery is now exported to more than 40 countries world wide and is imported and distributed in the UK by FGM Claymore who hold good stocks of machines and parts.

 The Masport QUICK CUT SYSTEM

Pivoting Swing Blades  are a key feature on most Masport mowers. These swing blades rebound if they hit a solid object such as a root or paving stone thus protecting the main shaft major damage beyond economical repair.

There are FIVE advantages to the Quick Cut System:

  1. Crank shaft protection
  2. Less likely to throw stones causing injury or damage to property
  3. Blades last longer. Because the blades swing back on impact with a solid object the blades sharp edge is less damaged so the blades last longer
  4. The blades never need sharpening as there is strength and rigidity in the blade carrier, the actual body of the blades are treated steel and are thin enough to cleanly cut grass without being ground sharp.
  5. Cheaper to replace. As the blades are only small swing tip blades they are cheap and easy to replace when worn. You do not have to replace the whole assembly.
