The EGO PHA7400E Auger - heavy-duty hole drilling for both soil and ice made easy with convenient user controls including 2 speeds, a reverse function and variable speed trigger.
The new earth and ice auger from EGO delivers an impressive 74Nm of torque making drilling holes that much easier. Powered by the 56V battery system, it is compatible with all batteries in the so you can choose the battery that is best suited to your needs. As a guide, EGO suggest that the 4Ah battery will provide enough power to drill up to 50 holes (depending on soil conditions, this count may vary). Whichever battery you choose, simply slot it into position on the top of the unit and away you go.
The controls are extremely easy to use and conveniently located on the ergonomic handles; there is a safety lock on the side of the handle, the variable speed trigger is located on the underside of the handle grip and the speed setting is on top of the handle adjustable with an easy-to-use sliding switch. Choose from two speeds ensuring the right power delivery for the ground conditions at hand, or the handy reverse function which is great if you get stuck or to simply make removing the auger from the freshly dug hole that much easier.
As well as functions to make drilling easier, it also includes features with safety in mind to. The anti-kickback feature will quickly and effectively stop the motor thanks to the built-in electronic brake ensuring the auger will stop safely cutting the risk of injury to the operator. The user interface will show one of three lights giving an indication of the augers status - green is normal running, yellow will show when the kickback feature is engaged, and red will show if the Soft Stop function is activated which will stop the motor in case of an overload OR if there is a fault with the machine.
This unit is supplied with both ETA0800 Earth Drill Bit and the ITA0800 Ice Drill Bit, both of which have a cutting depth of 20cm and are very quick and easy to change thanks to the quick connect function. If further drilling depth is required, you can purchase the ABE200 50cm extension pole which is compatible with both available drill bits. It is also available as a KIT which includes both drill bits and a 5Ah battery and Fast Charger.
The PHA7400E is part of EGO's Professional range meaning it comes with the standard 5 year domestic warranty but benefits from a 2 year professional warranty.
